Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 200g High-Quality Dark Chocolate (60-70% cocoa), finely chopped
- 120ml Heavy Cream
- 1 tablespoon Instant Espresso Powder
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
For Coating
- Cacao Powder or Cocoa Powder, for dusting
- Optional Sweetener: Honey, Maple Syrup, or Powdered Sugar (to taste)
- Optional: Chopped toasted nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios) for rolling
Instructions
- Prepare the Coffee-Infused Ganache: Finely chop the dark chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl. In a small saucepan, gently heat the heavy cream and dissolve the instant espresso powder in it. Once the cream mixture is hot but not boiling, pour it over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute to soften the chocolate. Stir until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Add Butter and Vanilla: While the ganache is still warm, stir in the unsalted butter and vanilla extract to enrich the texture and flavor, creating a creamy and velvety truffle center.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the ganache with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until firm enough to scoop and handle without melting.
- Shape the Truffles: Using a melon baller or teaspoon, scoop out small portions of the ganache. Quickly roll them into smooth balls using your palms. If the mixture becomes too soft, chill briefly to make shaping easier.
- Coat and Finish: Roll each truffle in cacao or cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or your preferred coating to add texture and extra chocolate flavor. Place the finished truffles on a parchment-lined tray.
