  • Diet: Optional to be Gluten Free (use gluten-free pasta)

Description

This Instant Pot Spaghetti Dinner is a quick, easy, and flavorful one-pot meal that brings perfectly cooked spaghetti, rich tomato sauce, and savory ground beef or turkey together in under 30 minutes. Ideal for busy weeknights, it combines aromatic herbs, a delicious sauce, and tender pasta for a comforting family-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

Pasta

  • 8 oz spaghetti pasta

Sauce

  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Other

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the aromatics and meat: Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant and translucent. Add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
  2. Add seasonings and liquids: Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth, mixing well to combine all flavors evenly.
  3. Add spaghetti: Break the spaghetti noodles in half and arrange them carefully in a crisscross pattern on top of the sauce without stirring to prevent clumping.
  4. Pressure cook: Close the Instant Pot lid and seal the vent. Set to manual high pressure for 8 minutes. After cooking, allow a 5-minute natural pressure release, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  5. Stir and serve: Open the lid and gently stir the spaghetti with the sauce until well mixed. Serve immediately with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese or your preferred garnish.

Notes

  • Layer pasta without stirring to prevent sticky clumps.
  • Use beef broth instead of water for richer flavor in the pasta.
  • Allow natural pressure release for 5 minutes before quick releasing to avoid sauce splatter.
  • Adjust salt, pepper, and herbs after cooking for perfect seasoning.
  • Do not fill Instant Pot beyond two-thirds capacity when doubling the recipe.
