Description

Indulge in these creamy and decadent Tiramisu Truffles that perfectly capture the classic flavors of tiramisu in easy-to-eat bite-sized treats. Made with mascarpone cheese, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and dusted with cocoa powder, these no-bake truffles are simple to prepare, customizable, and ideal for gifting or personal indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 250g mascarpone cheese
  • 150g ladyfingers
  • 1/2 cup strong espresso or very concentrated coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Coating

  • Cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Optional: 100g dark chocolate, melted, for coating

Optional Variations and Garnishes

  • Splash of coffee liqueur or Marsala wine (for alcohol-infused version)
  • Gluten-free cookies or crushed nuts (to substitute ladyfingers)
  • Dairy-free mascarpone alternative and coconut cream (for vegan version)
  • Additional cocoa powder mixed into mascarpone for mocha flavor
  • Crushed hazelnuts, pistachios, or almonds (for rolling)
  • Pinch of cinnamon or sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the espresso soak: Brew a strong shot of espresso or very concentrated coffee and let it cool completely to avoid melting the mascarpone and maintain the right texture.
  2. Crush the ladyfingers: Gently crush the ladyfingers into fine but slightly chunky crumbs, enough to hold the truffles together while keeping a soft bite.
  3. Mix mascarpone and flavorings: In a bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy to form the base mixture.
  4. Combine soaked ladyfingers with mascarpone: Carefully drizzle the cooled espresso over the crushed ladyfingers, mixing just enough to moisten without making the mixture soggy. Fold this mixture gently but thoroughly into the mascarpone cream.
  5. Chill the mixture: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up the mixture, which will make shaping easier.
  6. Form and coat the truffles: Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, form bite-sized balls and roll them gently between your palms. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or dip in melted dark chocolate for a refined finish.
  7. Final chilling: Place the finished truffles on a parchment-lined tray and chill again for at least one hour to allow them to set properly and the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Use cooled espresso to prevent melting the mascarpone and ruining the texture.
  • Control moisture carefully by adding espresso gradually to avoid a soggy mixture.
  • Chill the mixture thoroughly before shaping for smooth and neat truffles.
  • Use fresh, high-quality mascarpone for the best richness and creaminess.
  • Work quickly as mascarpone softens at room temperature—form and chill promptly.
