Hot Italian Sub Sliders are bold, flavorful mini sandwiches combining spicy Italian sausage, salami, pepperoni, and melty provolone cheese with fresh veggies on soft slider buns. Ready in under 30 minutes, these sliders are perfect for gatherings, quick meals, and customizable to suit different tastes and dietary needs.

Ingredients

Meats & Cheese

  • Italian Sausage – 8 ounces
  • Salami slices – 8 slices
  • Pepperoni slices – 8 slices
  • Provolone Cheese slices – 8 slices

Bread & Veggies

  • Mini Slider Buns – 8 buns
  • Banana Peppers, sliced – 1/4 cup
  • Red Onion, thinly sliced – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh Lettuce leaves – 8 small leaves
  • Tomato slices – 1 small tomato, sliced

Seasonings & Oils

  • Olive Oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Italian Seasoning – 1 teaspoon plus extra for sprinkling
  • Garlic, minced – 2 cloves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture: Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and nicely browned. Add minced garlic, olive oil, and Italian seasoning, stirring well to combine and deepen the flavors.
  2. Assemble the Sliders: Slice the mini slider buns in half. Layer the bottom halves with the hot sausage mixture, then place slices of salami and pepperoni on top. Add a slice of provolone cheese on each slider to melt in the oven.
  3. Add Fresh Veggies and Bake: Top the cheese with banana peppers, thinly sliced red onions, and a light sprinkle of extra Italian seasoning. Bake the sliders at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts and the buns are warmed through.
  4. Finish with Lettuce and Tomato: Remove sliders from the oven and add fresh lettuce leaves and tomato slices. Carefully place the top halves of the buns on each slider and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use quality Italian sausage, salami, and pepperoni for best flavor.
  • Do not overload the fillings to avoid soggy buns.
  • Lightly toast slider buns before assembling for extra crunch.
  • Adjust banana peppers and seasonings to control spice level.
  • Cook and prep ingredients ahead of time for faster assembly.
